Green hosting by Krystal

Admittedly I only decided to switch my hosting provider when I became unhappy with my previous one. Comfort is strong. But I am very happy that I switched.

Krystal are reliable, their technical support is good and fast, the user interface is a pleasure to navigate, they gave me a discount for the overlap period with the previous provider – and they are green. Powered by renewable energy and planting trees on my behalf.

Planting trees with Ecologi

Ecologi plants trees worldwide on our behalf. They have local partners and focus their efforts in parts of the world where cost and efficiency are best so that we can make the most difference.

I chose to get trees planted in Madagascar and the UK every month, balancing cost-effectiveness and closeness.

A B-Corp with a very wide network, they have funded over 77 million trees and avoided over 3 million tCO2e in their first 3 years.

They make it really easy to help the planet!

Tackling food waste & feeding people in need with the Felix Project

I set up a regular, monthly donation to the Felix Project a number of years ago, I actually forget how many it’s been.

Their cause is straight forward: rescue food from supermarkets, restaurants and private individuals from going to landfill, then redistribute it to people in need across London. I get really excited when they open an new distribution centre! An now their work is even more important with the current cost-of-living crisis.

They also have the support of King Charles whose Coronation Food Project goes hand in had with their mission.

Living Christmas trees by London Christmas Tree Rental

Last year I rented a living, sustainable, pot-grown Christmas tree. It lives in a tree nursery until we can rent it, then after the holidays I returned it and it went back to the nursery.

And the best part of renting a living Christmas tree? By the end of the Christmas period, when it’s time to return it, the tree still looks fresh and beautiful. I was actually sad to return it.

No needling, no sad looking tree at the end of the holidays, no trees cut down for a few weeks’ pleasure.
